Was having a problem with the second Apple display so did a search on MacForums and found someone with similar problem.
I have two displays hooked up to my G5 - one is a newer 23" and the other an older ADC 20".
The newer display has a couple of USB cables that need to plug into the back of the MAC desktop in order to use the ones on the display - which I did.
The older display also has a USB cable which I never thought I had room for. I checked the back of my G5 and luckily there was a free one available.
After plugging the ADC display USB cable into the G5 I can now adjust the brightness on the ADC display. There is even a slider in the Display settings under preferences.
Looks like the ADC display uses the USB cable for some of the settings.
Hope this is of use to someone - maybe to the original poster from 2004.
Everything is on the internet !!!!
