update ios of original ipad

i want to update the ios of my original ipad, itunes is showing this alert to transfer my purchased items to my itunes library, i purchased all these apps on my ipad, am i going to have to re-install all of them after updating?

Assuming you've backed up then iTunes will automatically restore everything after updating the firmware.
