Some are liars, some are talking about developer releases, others i am not sure. I am in the same situation as its still 2.2.1! it may come out in 50 mins as somebody in another thread said it could appear at 3 o'clock pacific time or something like that.
it will be released around 4/5pm in the UK, which i think is around 9pm san francisco time.

There is a suggestion that it may be the 18th by the time Australia gets it. If that is so it could still be a minimum of 2 and a half hours away, i.e 1.00 p.m. BST (or 5.00 a.m.) Pacific time.
I read on another site that someone who "works" for Apple (put as much stock as you want to in that) says that it will be released at 6 AM west coast time, so a little over 3 hours from now. And it does feel like Christmas, except your parents are telling you its too early, and to go back to bed.
