Hi all.

I tried updating my iPod Touch to 2.2 from 2.0 through Xcode.
It did it almost and and the device disappeared from the device list in
Xcode > Organizer

Now the device is showing Cable & iTunes in display.
So i tried connecting to iTunes, But both iTunes and Xcode is throwing Error "Unknown Error"

Earlier i tried installing OS2.0 through Xcode without any difficulty.
And it asked me to activate through iTunes.
I did and everything worked fine then...

Please Help..

I am not connected to internet.
Is it mandatory to have network connection (connect to UpdateServer) so as to update / activate OS in TOuch ?

stick it in dfu and update through iTunes and leave xcode out the equasation till after updating

Still i would like anyone to answer me "Whether network is needed for updation? Is the local copy of ipsw is not enough?"

Am asking the same because iTunes is refusing to detect my device, with a message " iPod software update server could not be connected. There is not enough memory available."

you can manually point iTunes to the ipsw stored on your hard drive

windows: hold down shift key then press restore
mac: hold options key then press restore

point iTunes to the ipsw and it should restore

But the problem is iTunes is showing "Unknown error", so i am not getting the device tab in iTunes.
