update macbook?

I have a macbook pro with the 2.4 core 2 duo....I have been wanting to update but need some input. I would be using photoshop elements for basic photo editing, some imovie, so I am not really a power user. I do want the retina display but not sure if I should go the new macbook route with the m processor or a i5 macbook pro

Swing by an Apple Store and try them out. Either one will be able to handle the tasks you mentioned.

I really liked the idea of the thin, light and ultraportable retina MacBook, but I hated typing on the new keyboard. I ended up with a retina MacBook Pro.
