hi, i found some discussions about displays for the mac mini but they are from 2005/2006

the mac mini (early 2009)just had a price cut, so i take the chance of getting one very cheap.
currently im using with my hdtv 42 phillips, until i find a nice display for my needs.
i´ve. read alot about display and i think i get a few conclusions.

my budget is not very high, about $250.

my questions

-i dont want a cheap tn panel
-i dont want 16:9

- i prefer a ips panel or e-ips or something else .
- size 20" 22" or 24"
- 16:10
-resolution 1920x1200 or 1920 x 1080
-response time 2ms or 5ms
-brightness 250cd/m2 until 400cd/m2
- full hd
- dvi
- hdmi ???
-angles are not important i think..
- basically the monitor use will be for 60% web pages, 20% for games 20% movies.
should i get for a used :apple: 20" apple cinema display (alluminium) on ebay ($250)
should i buy new monitor witch one in the market will fit my needs -price/quality

also i have apple tv and i rent some movies in itunes, and yesterday i made some comparing between itunes 3.0 and macmini has media center.

the hdtv is a phillips 42 PL5604H/12

the connection use was mini -dvi-hdmi
the apple tv was hdmi-hdmi

the movie was "300" not full hd
and some cinema trailers from itunes

i try different resolutions on tv , apple tv and mac mini, and it looks like to the naked eye that apple tv has slightly advantage in picture quality.
anyway i will not use the mac mini has a media center .

i hope to hear your advices for the monitor( im in europe but i use us models as review, guides and prices)
thanks. :)

$250 will not give you an IPS monitor.

For your use a good quality TN monitor would do the trick.
