At least, I think it's the update nag. I don't know what else it could be.
Ever since I installed mavericks, it's been doing this annoying trick where it will keep my macbook pro (mid-2010 15") awake all night if it's shut when the nag wants to go off. This puts a lot of heat into the macbook that I absolute don't want just sitting there all night.
The obvious answer is "install the updates" but I don't always have time or want to reboot right when Mavericks decides it needs attention, and I don't appreciate my operating system hassling me to update every day. That's probably what irritates me about this more than anything. Google suggests there is no way to turn this off, even though I have everything unchecked in the App Store pref pane, so I thought I would ask directly.
Is there a way to disable all update nags, even if it be via something like Onyx, or do I need to think about downgrading? So far Mavericks hasn't been much of an improvement over Snow Leopard, except for a few of my apps no longer supporting SL.
