Hello Everyone,
This year I was fortunate enough to get my first mac (Macbook air 13" if that matters). Now I wanted to know if I should do the Software update to 10.7.2 or not. My last pc still had Xp. So i never updated. So should I Update? also I have a usb to ethernet adapter, should I use that to make it faster? Do I lose data when i update?
Thanks

You're in Apple World now, not Microsoft. You should always update.

Only problem I've found with 10.7.2 is the LaunchPad icon size. They are stuck being huge.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

The update is somewhere from 750mb to 1.25gb, so this may give you some idea. Depends on your download speed, your install time may be 10-15 mins

Ok. Will do! Will I lose my data?

no you wont lose your date

Hmmm this is so Microsoft of me... Update... How long will it take with a usb to ethernet adapter?

thing of these updates like when Windows did updates during a shut down, you know when it said dont turn off your pc windows is installing updates

this is not a new OS its just updates to the current one

well 10.7.2 killed internet connection for me and some other folk. i had to roll back to 10.7

u maybe in an apple world, but they still screw up as much as the next company. update at ur own risk.
