I am brand new to macOS, so please excuse my ignorance on the topic. I've had iOS (iPhone) since the beginning.

When updating iOS to a new version (e.g. iOS 18.4.x to 18.5), there is always a message that says "verifying update" before it installs. Upon rebooting, 95% of the time, there is some message indicating that the software was updated.

However, it appears as though, that is absent in for macOS updates? For instance, I just updated from 15.4.1 to 15.5....this is the only update I've done, so maybe it's different for others....

is it normal for it to not say "verifying update" or give some kind of "completed" follow-up message upon next login? I belive the Settings menu was open, that's about it.

Really dumb question, yes. Just curious if this is normal behavior.
