Cool update with video on Android Police: http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/04/03/dave-hakkens-of-phonebloks-and-the-ara-team-show-off-early-prototypes-and-the-ara-configurator-app/

Cool video. Shows how the phone will have a 'Moto Maker'-esque type app to design your phone, how the blocks will be made, the steps behind the electro-magnets, and so on. Some we have seen before, but the project is def moving along from the last video I saw on this.

The video also gives us a sneak peek at an upcoming "Ara Configurator App," currently being co-developed by Google and Sosolimited. This app lets user configure an Ara phone with different hardware components and exterior design elements, sort of like a more complex version of the Moto Maker system (though the Configurator app was demoed on a phone). Presumably the app could let users design and order a completely customized phone quickly.
