Did a update from Serria to high serria today and now I am missing some app icons like the App Store and photos as well as mail and Siri

Any idea how to fix this?

The icons are missing in my launchpad too. I tried deleting the .db files in /Library/Application support/Dock and restarting but it doesn’t bring them back. They’re still showing as generic icons. Any ideas?

I got fed up with the HS installation / update problems I was having so I formatted a spinner to HFS+ and installed virgin Yosemite 10.0.0 then I downloaded High Sierra through the App store.

The App store installed a virgin High Sierra 10.13.2 installation.
I will not install any apps until the last update of HS. I can wait.

From hereon in I will download HS combos.

In any case until HS is truly matured Mavericks does everything I need without fail.

A good strategy. Then again, it seems that my TM problems were solved in 10.13.2
And thinking it over, it's worth it to keep up with the latest update, be it a COMBO release,
because of all those weaknesses, even in older versions like Yosemite.
Nowadays an OS is so huge and so complicated that hackers can spend a lifetime finding holes in them.
;JOOP!
