Hi all,

I'm after some advice.

I have recently removed the camera unit from my iPhone 3G as I am not allowed Cameraphones at work and wish to use my iPhone for business as well.

However, can anyone tell me if when I update to 3.1.2 will the update search for an installed camera and therefore potentially fail?

Any guidance?

Cheers

Andy

I didn't think 3.1.2 update had anything to do with the camera. But instead of butchering your iPhone, why not just use an iPod Touch for work?

Because I don't just want it for an iPod. I want it for a phone as well, rather than having a naff old phone with no camera.

Surely you have your iPhone (assuming you have one) for its phoning capabilities rather than iPod - if not, then your rather stupid.

It wasn't so much a butcher, as its all plug and play style hardware - i.e. no cables were cut or damaged.
