Update to 5.0.1 jailbreak help!

Hi,
I am currently running 4.3.1 on iPhone 4 which is jailbroken.

Can I safely update to 5.0.1 through iTunes and then use the new untethered jailbreak?

Will I still have all my jailbroken apps etc. if I use this method?

Also will I still have all my text messages and calls saved?

If you sync your phone to your computer before you update your phone, then sync it again with your last backup it will save all your test and call history.

Ok thanks. What about my jailbroken apps etc.? The phone doesn't need to be unlocked btw.

easy guide
1. update to 5.0.1 using itunes normally (backup first)
2. after updating use the latest redsnow ( redsnow is now untethered 5.0.1)
3. thats it.

You have to reinstall. Apple's not going to save your JB stuff.

Cydia keeps track of your JB stuff, you will have to install each item one by one.
