Update to iOS 5 with Alternate Computer

The laptop that I used to sync my iPad with is no longer usable (water damage). All my other brothers have laptops (Winblows) and I'd really like to update to iOS 5.

Can I do so on their laptops, whilst maintaining all the data and apps on my iPad, or am I SOL?

Just download iTunes to their pc, install, sign into iTunes under your Apple ID, transfer purchases, and go. I use Windows exclusively and have no issues.

Just be sure they have enough disk space for your backup that it will perform before the new OS install.
