Update watchOS using iPhone's hotspot?

I understand that the Apple Watch needs to be on the charger and on the same Wi-Fi network as its paired iPhone before watchOS can be updated to the latest version.

What if I turn on my iPhone's hotspot and connect my Apple Watch to it via Wi-Fi?

Does that count as being on the same Wi-Fi network?

Will I be able to update watchOS that way?

It doesn’t count as being on the same wifi, the network protocols are different for hotspot and data transfer.
