So I was holding on to my 1.59 baseband so I could eventually unlock it and sell the phone. I would get several dropped calls per day depending on location. Since I updated to iOS5 and obviously the new baseband I have not had one dropped call!

I always assumed nothing changed in the baseband but obviously something did. Anyone else upgrade from 1.59 and notice a decrease
in dropped calls?

Don't know have to see more info because it's the same baseband used in 4.3.3 and I still get my drop calls 4.10.1 I'm suspecting a official baseband when IOS 5 is released till then they probably won't update it.

Is it a revelation to find they update the baseband to fix things? Not just to keep people from unlocking.

4.3.3 is 4.10.1. Think the beta has an 11 in there I heard.

They update the BB for fixing things and NOT to block unlocking so it doesn't surprise me if it does. They usually do block jailbreaks because of the security issue that ensues.

That's true but I always read that there wasn't any real
change in the baseband. I kept my 1.59 because I believed
it and wanted the extra resell value. I don't think it's worth
the extra money you might get later if the call quality suffers
now though.
