I am currently using a 2020 MacBook Air M1 on OS Monterey and got a facetime box today asking for my Apple ID to login. Long story short I followed steps, answered my secret security questions and unlocked my Apple ID. Since then I have go into the Facetime app on the mac and turned it off. I have never used it so is this is common issue or likely a one time blip. I did get and email from apple support letting me know that I unlocked my Apple ID. It only it once and the last few startups have been fine. One other point is my Apple ID has a RED 1 on it sign setting it up, this is related to my 2FA not being turned on as I have never used this before and don't understand it enough to set it up. So maybe setting this up will resolve my issues. I don't want to have to be sent a code each time I use this mac or my Apple TV in our TV room so I skipped it. This morning I got a box saying "" To continue, sign in with your Apple ID." This is my first new mac in ten years so maybe 2FA should be enabled by me following the steps and not worry about it?My take is they are related, any help would be appreciated, Thankyou.
* Update: I went ahead and setup my new mac 2FA and will see if this was the issue. Much easier than I thought.
