Updated iOS and the iPhone asked for iPad passcode???

Here's something I have never seen. My Mom just sent me a pic of her iPhone 6 after she updated it. Why would it ask for her iPad passcode? And what is the purpose of this request?

I have NEVER seen this screen in my almost 10 years of iPhone ownership and countless iOS updates.

Reddit says it’s bc there’s encrypted iCloud data involved.

Uh - that isn't really supposed to happen like that, but this has to do with iCloud data and syncing it between devices.

Best bet is to enter the password.
