I don't sync my iPhone often. Yesterday I updated my iPhone OS to 3.1.3 (an enormous 400MB file) and somehow erased all my contacts in the iPhone (tho not in my iMac). I have tried repeatedly, with all the variations I can think of, to sync with my iMac (Intel, but running OS 10.4.11), to no avail. I can sync everything but my contacts. I've tried changing the preference settings. Right now I have Entourage set to "Replace Sync Services with Entourage items" because my iMac is always my updated source. In the iTunes "info" window" I have "Sync Address Book Contacts" checked for "All contacts." (FWIW I also have "Sync iCal Calendars" checked, and "Sync Mail Accounts" not checked.) I have tried the "Advanced" move: "Replace information on this iPhone," with contacts checked. This morning I did a "restore," but I apparently am still using the new OS, and I still can't sync my contacts. Nothing works. I even exported my contacts to Apple's Address Book, which I don't use, and tried to sync with that. No go. Whenever I do sync, the progress window says "Syncing contacts," but it just stays on that step for a few seconds before moving to calendars, as though it is being denied access, or can't find my contacts.

One piece of possible relevant info is that since my last sync I had to replace the glass on my iPhone at a non-Apple shop. However, I'm more inclined to think this problem stems from my outdated OS. Or from my admitted inexperience with the syncing process.

Can anyone help me? Thank you!
Nancy
