Updated to 10.15.6 and it screwed up permisions on external

I get the "the operation can’t be completed because you don’t have the necessary permission" when trying to delete files on an encrypted (vera crpt) external. The Cmd I method does not work to reset permissions.
Terminal diskutil no longer has repair permissions as an option. Anyone know a solution ?
