After updating to 6.1, my iphone 5 would constantly ask me for my Apple ID password. It will ask about 4-5 times and then finally stop. I thought all was fine, however when I went into settings, I noticed that my e-mail address (apple ID) was not selected as an address for imessage. Only my phone number was listed. When I choose to add the e-mail as an address to be reached at, it goes through the same process of asking for my password over and over again until it finally just removes my e-mail. Has anyone else experienced this issue and/or found a way to fix it? Thanks in advance for your help.

I updated my step dad's 4S today and it did the same thing. I think it asked 3-5 times before it took it...

Right, it eventually accepts the password, but if you check in the settings, the e-mail address is removed as an address to be reached at. I've now noticed the same thing under my facetime settings. It will only allow me to have my apple ID as an address to be reached at for imessage OR facetime, but not both. For instance once I added it to facetime, it asked me for the PW 3-4 times, and now its removed from imessage, and vice versa.

Hmm , it's strange, because I had zero issues with my 4S and I updated it through iTunes the same . I guess I'll wait and hear if he has anymore issues.

I am having the same issue since updating to 6.1. It keeps asking me for my password even though I am entering it correctly. No issues on my iPad mini only on my iPhone 5.

I can't seem to stay logged in on my iPhone but I have no problems logging in on my iPad, though the phone number is missing as an address on my iPad. Now I can't sync iMessages between my iPhone and iPad anymore. No luck with FaceTime either.

I found this fix on another forum and it worked for me.

1.Go to the settings of iMessage and turn off iMessage.
2.Go to the settings of FaceTime and turn off FaceTime.
3.Reboot
4.Go back to iMessage and turn it on and login using your icloud/apple id credentials.
5.Go back to FaceTime and turn it on and login using your icloud/apple id credentials.

I've tried this on both my iPhone and iPad. Signing out of both, rebooting, signing into my iPhone first then my iPad and vice versa. Still no luck.
