Hi there,

I just stumbled across sth quite weird. I like to test the full app before I buy it, so I have like 2-3 pirated apps on the 3GS. If I don't use it any more after 2 days I don't buy it, saved me some money but also made me pay for a lot of really good games & apps I liked.
Today my phone's Appstore said updates available for two of these pirated apps, and it said for free. Only on the phone, in Itunes nothing changed. This is kind of weird and I don't know what to make of it. It is a 3GS with blackra1n jailbreak. Did this happen to anyone else too?

Yes it happens all the time. It won't actually update the app. It won't even allow you to download it because the signed app that you have on your device isn't actually signed to your phone and so you would have to buy it.

Sorry, but there aren't free update for hacked apps.

Never expected them to be, I just got really confused by that because it never happened to me before. I will probably ignore one and buy the other ;)
