I'm still baffled and amazed at how Saurik is able to react and deploy updates and fixes for jailbreak stuff so quickly from different teams each year.

The man is awesome.

yeah, when we get a stable release with no bugs like iMessage photos not sending, i'll go ahead and jailbreak and buy apps instead of cracking them. Until then, i paid a little bit too much for this iPhone 6 128gb and 30gb data plan to not have it working :p

Sweet. I finally went ahead and jail broke. I did the passcode workaround, so I'm good.

He's the man.
And he deserves every penny of revenue or donations he gets.
The dude is in an airport lobby waiting to board and he's fixing and debugging mobile substrate, cydia and working on untether source code to get us a stable release soon.
You can't question his dedication and drive for the ios JB scene.

Pretty sure there's an AMA on this. But regardless, it's not even breaking even. It's more like Saurik decided to go into perpetual debt (he said around $20K) just so he can continue doing whatever he wants (which includes maintaining Cydia and related items) and never have to have a real job again. I imagine he gets some payments from speaking at some conferences, but not enough.

saurik makes plenty of cydia. just like apple makes off the app store.

prolly a big reason he wants the jailbreak out asap, so more users can jb and adopt cydia, thus buying apps.

He gets tons of people hammering his severs, do you honestly believe the few cents he makes when someone buys an app on cydia (which most people don't) is enough to break even let along make money?

Same here and all of us should too since we enjoy our JB devices.
It doesn't even have to be a big amount.
Even $10-20 or whatever anyone can afford to send is great.

$20 for me on each JB. It's just what I feel is right considering the service is free and the man works his butt off for nearly no profit.
