Ok guys I have a question for a friend who is having problems with updating to 10.5.6 from 10.5.5. She has an Imac and goes thru the update process and everytime gets the error message after its downloaded cant mount the image I think. I haven't seen it but thats what she is telling me. Anyone know what the problem is?????? She has tried several times and it's always the same thing. What could it be???

my bet would be on the download cache being corrupted.

i'd recommend downloading the update manually from here and seeing if that helps...

download the combo update from apple.com, and install the update that way. That is what a bunch of people had to do. This is a common problem that apple knows about.

Also have your friend clear out Macintosh HD/Library/Updates just to make sure there isn't a stray file or two there lingering.
