Hi everyone, I'm looking for some guidance please.

I have an iPad mini on iOS 8.1.2 that was jailbroken a few years ago. I'm looking to update it to iOS 9.x but I'm unsure of how to do it.

Do I need to update the iPad to 9.x first and then jailbreak it again? Am I to assume all my tweaks will be removed and will have to be downloaded again?

I know I shouldn't update it to iOS 10 but that is the latest one available on iTunes, so is there a place I can download the previous update?

I hope you can help :)

Depending on your ipad mini model you can only update/restore to the latest firmware signed by Apple.
Currently the only version signed is iOS 10 so you will not be able to update to anything else.
You either stay where you are or go up to the latest version.

Support ended w/9.3.5

You can update to it at any time, you just will lose the JB.

How did you know what version iPad mini he has?

Here's a list of every Apple device that supports iOS 10:
  • iPad 4, iPad Air 1, iPad Air 2, iPad Pro 9.7-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inch.
  • iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 4.
  • iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE.
  • iPod touch (sixth generation)

I'm taking his post literally...since no number was appended after the Mini, this means a 1.

If he meant otherwise, then he needs to be more precise. / shrug/

Thanks for the replies. guys!
I have an iPad mini 2, since iTunes is telling me to update to 10 as I said in my OP. I'll wait on 8.1 then until an iOS 10 jailbreak is available.
