Updating Apps and itunes account issues

I have some issues with updating my apps (MountainLion, iPhoto, etc...)

Here are my issues.

1. Somehow I purchased Mountain Lion with a secondary itunes account by accident. I hate even having more than one account. Is there a way to move it over and consolidate them to ONE itunes account? I am thinking not, but I thought I would ask.

2. iPhoto and GarageBand and it keeps flashing with, "You can not update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software."

I am assuming #2 means that I must purchase the app for the update but I just want to be sure I am understanding this correctly.
