I'm giving my old (mid 2010) iMac to my parents (as part of a wider gift) and I'm just in the process of re-installing OS X and upgrading to Mavericks.

If I purchase and install any other software (e.g. iLife) from the App Store with my own account will they be able to update it without having to enter my own credentials?

Thanks,
C

Short answer is no. Not sure if there's a workaround, but I have applications both in iOS and OSX from different accounts and I need to switch and enter the different users/passwords to update.
