Do anybody know if the Alternate Upgrade "loophole" on Verizon still works? We're looking at maybe upgrading our iPhone 5 to iPhone 6.

What happens if you buy the phone outright and not subsidized (or on their EDGE program)? Would you be able to keep your unlimited plan?

No with the edge you still lose the unlimited plan. Just buy full retail, if you do the math you are paying less per month for the full retail than that crappy edge program. The loophole was with the old family plans that verizon had. You use the upgrade on the other line then switch the phones. I still have my nationwide talk and text with unlimited data but I pay full retail for the phone. Worth it since I use ~ 30-40gb a month.

The upgrade loophole still works today.

You are asking a hypothetical future. question no one can answer. We can only answer what is in the present.

Try going to a store like Best Buy or Target and see what happens if you upgrade just the phone and not the plan. Or even try Verizon and see what you get. You don't have to buy it just yet.
