Updating jailbroken iphone 3gs

I have a jailbroken iphone 3GS
Its currently running version 4.1 and the firmware is 6.15.00

I do not even know how it got version 4.1 as it kept messing up and I restored it to version 3 !
Anyway how do I update it to the latest software version 4.3.5

Someone else unlocked this phone so I have no idea what I am doing each time it gets stuck and its by sheer chaotic pressing of random buttons ive managed to restore it.

I really dont want hassles and if its gonna be complicated I would rather just stick with my old software and leave it at that, just would be nice to be able to update the darn phone without it going nuts on me each time grrrr

Check if you have blobs. D/l tiny umbrella and save the shsh to your computer.
If you have 4.3.3's blob or lower, d/l pwnage or snowbreeze and create a custom firmware.
Run TU's server, install firmware in itunes and you're upgraded.

I am not very familiar with doing any of this stuff so I really need someone to explain it step by step

I have no idea what blobs is or means
In fact except for download I did not understand much of that
