Sorry, has probably been asked many times before, just need to grasp the concept...

So if I want to update my jailbroken iphone in the future:

1. -Do I have to do a factory restore prior to hitting update in itunes (and thus erasing and having to resynchronize all legit apps, music etc) or can I just update on top of the jailbroken iOS version?

2. Using a particular cydia app (forgot the name), I can backup cydia apps right (since I know these will be erased) and re-install once there is a jailbreak ready for the new firmware?

So the proces goes

-Synchronize official apps etc in itunes
-Use program to sync jailbreak dependent apps
-Factory restore (if needed)
-Update firmware
-Re-install official apps, music etc
-Install jailbreak for new iOS version
-Reinstall jalbreak dependent apps

Or what... Easier methods?

Thanks a lot!
