Updating JB phone to 4.1

this may seem like a stupid question but thought I should check anyway. I am currently running jailbroken ios 4.01 on my 3GS. I appreciate that if I did update to 4.1 it would break my JB, however would my phone still run normally, or would i need to take some precautions first?

Also if i did update to 4.1 but then later decided to downgrade back to 4.01 so I could re-jailbreak, how would i got about doin that?

If you update you will lose your Jailbreak/Unlock possible forever.

the rule is: if you are Jailbroken/unlocked Nerver...NEVER...one more time...Never update on release date, wait for jailbreak community instructions.

Now...you phone will go back to stock and funtion as normal...

If you saved your SHSH with Cydia or TinyUmbrella you can go back to any SHSHs version you have saved, so ig you saved your SHSHS for 4.0.1 them you can just stat your TSS server and downgrade to 4.0.1

to answer your first question, yes it would run normally without any sign of being jailbreaked to the end user.

as far as downgrading goes, it's quite complicated and i dont feel like explaining it but just dont do it if you want to downgrade.
 
What do you mean by Jailbreak/Unlock possible forever? :confused:

We just have to wait for a proper jb or unlock right?

translation = there may possibly NEVER be another hole found that would allow a jb. it's a cat & mouse game. people find holes > apple patches hole > people try to find new hole.
 
I restored mine from Jailbroken to 4.1 and it went pretty smoothly. The cool thing is the restore kept my iblank icons. Not sure how that happened but pretty awesome still.
