I am trying to update my iMac 24" to snow leopard or higher so I can install and use photoshop elements and premiere 11.

my computer info as of right now is as follows:

Hardware Overview:

Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac7,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Bus Speed: 800 MHz
Boot ROM Version: IM71.007A.B03
SMC Version (system): 1.20f4
Serial Number (system): W874112FX86
Hardware UUID: 00000000-0000-1000-8000-001B63A820ED

Can anyone help me with this?

Help would be greatly appreciated

1. Buy Snow Leopard from Apple Store (or online).
2. Boot from disk.
3. Install Snow Leopard.

It's that simple. Snow Leopard will install in the place of your existing OS. (Though make sure you have a backup just in case!)

Once you have Snow Leopard installed (and you've run all the updates), you can buy Mountain Lion form the Mac App Store, if you need to go the extra mile.

You might also want to increase the amount of RAM in your machine.
