I've just switched from PC to Mac (imac and macbook pro) and since I now have to use I tunes I thougth that it was a good opportunity to start organising my mp3 collection in a library (after 10 years, shame on me). So I'm gradually dropping al my music from my old PC to my new mac where I import it in Itunes
For my newer stuff, I can change my faulty tags in I tunes quite easily but older files I can't update. I've noticed that in finder they all show the locked symbol. I know that you can unlock those via 'show info ~security' but is there a way to do this in batch (I have a thousand of these locked mp3s). I've tried to do it in automator but I only mess things up.
Also, when I have all my tags rigth I would like to put all the music on my external hard disc and/ or my mp3 player (Iaudio X5 from Cowon) so that my friend and me have access to all our combined music from different macs. Is this doable or will all changed tags be lost? Currently I'm a bit suspicious off all the copies that itunes makes from the music
Thank you for your answers
