Updating over Wifi

I was wondering if updating your apps from your device has some sort of downside over updating them from your computer. I mean is there any sort of "ghost" data left over? Or something? Some sort of data that the device has trouble fully deleting (from the old version of the app? Or am I just being paranoid??

I have owned iPhones for almost four years now, and I have never updated apps from my computer. I wouldn't even know how. If there were any negative consequences from updating on the phone I'm sure I would have run into them by now.

Paranoid for certain. Haven't updated my apps from the computer in months, probably well over a year or more. No problems at all.

agreed i have had ipod touches and iphones for over 2 years ive never downloaded or updated any app on the computer version of the app store

Nothing.

Most of the time I update over wifi and I have the badge inside of iTunes saying there are x amount of updates available and it stays that way until I sync my phone, and then the apps on the computer end up being updated by the phone, rather than vice versa.
