Updating the firmware on an Intel 760p and 2015 Mac fails

Dear All:

I have tried to update the firmware of my 2TB Intel 760p from 002C to the current 004C. However, it fails: if I put the firmware update tool CD in the drive, switch off the iMac (Late 2015, 27", 3.2 i5, running on 10.14.2), it does not properly start the firmware update tool. Instead I get this - what is GNU GRUB version 2.00, and how to I proceed from there?

I get the same on a Early 2015 13" MBP. The same CD however works properly on my Late 2012 15" Macbook Pro and also updated the Intel 545s firmware. So what is wrong here?
