Hi Guys,

New to Mac and have a quick question about updating OS X.

I'm wondering when Yosemite is due to be replaced with a new OS is it free to download and upgrade or is there a fee involved?

Obviously with windows, if you want to upgrade from Win 7 to Win 8 there is a fee involved but for example when users update there iPhones etc from iOS 7 to iOS 8 it's free.

Apple has changed the model for its upgrades from charging to free. They may change course in the future but I doubt they'll do that. They've gone to the small but frequent upgrade model and made it free.

Ah that's great news, I'm liking this Apple world already and have not even got my mac yet.... roll on Friday!

Enjoy your new Mac. However my advice is not to jump on the latest and greatest OSX as soon as upgrades become available. Wait awhile for the bugs to be ironed out and your apps and peripheral's to be supported.
