Updating to 2.1 on another computer, can it be done?

I am away on vacation and I want to update my iPhone 3G and not loose all of my stuff. I have an iMac at home and my in-laws have a PC is it possible? I do not want to wait until Sunday, but I will if I have to. Thanks so much for your help!!!

I did it at work this morning. just don't sync your music after, cause it will erase them all until you get home.

I did the same myself. However, I can't find any references to genius- is that because I didn't resync with my library?

Right on point! iTunes will need to sync the Genius database over to iPhone!

I just synced my 2.5g Iphone with my secondary computer (laptop) and it worked just fine. No loss of contacts or music.

I can confirm this as well. Genius database needs to be added though which is most likely on your main computer.
