Updating to 4.2.1: will I have 4.3-related problems

Hey all, quick question, I searched but am not clear. I've just made a custom 4.2.1 firmware for my 3GS (that is already jailbroken and unlocked on 4.0.1) with PwnageTool 4.2 and am ready to put it into DFU. The only thing I'm wondering is, will I have any problems going to 4.2 with 4.3 being the major current release? Or will I be fine going to the custom firmware?

You have 4.2.1 shsh blobs right?
Just run TU and click start TSS server before you open iTunes.
Also make sure you put your phone in "pwned" dfu mode. Not regular dfu.
Then hold option and click restore on iTunes to select the custom 4.2.1 you made with pwnage.

Cydia's main page has 4.2.1+ listed after SHSH listed so yes, in addition to everything below 4.2.1.
So quit iTunes
Download TinyUmbrella
Start TSS server
Open iTunes and restore
Except where and how do I enter pwned DFU mode?

Yes, click "save shsh" first on TU and after it's done downloading your shsh then click start TSS.
Then enter pwned dfu with pwnage tool or redsnow.

Ok, SHSH are all saved. Does the TSS server just stay running, like with the spinning wheel next to it?
If so, I just leave that, then DFU thru PT?

Yep, you got it.
Leave TSS running till the whole restore is done and your phone starts back up on jb 4.2.1
Then install Ultrasnow from cydia to unlock.

So when I attempt to enter DFU mode thru PT with the TSS server running on TU and iTunes closed, iTunes starts up automatically. Is this ok, as long as the TSS server is running?

Just got back from the dark side and everything looks good Word to the wise: don't wait until you're updating your phone to also update OS X and iTunes
