hey guys,

i'm just over at hacktheiphone.com and I noticed there's some info on updating my 1.1.1 firmwire to 1.1.2 via another jailbreak and ssh.

my question is.. if i want to update does that mean im losing all my content on my phone? if so.. i'll be happy at 1.1.1

Hi,

I asume when you say unlock (using anySIM with another carrier - NO ATT).

Always sync your iPhone before doing anything.

About jailbreaked apps:
I have installed the To Do list app and after doing this update all my task are there. Same thing for the NES Roms.

You will need to re-install all your 3rd party apps, at least for these 2 apps (that I use) the data is still there.

I haven't used the app to avoid the message that there is not enough room in the iPhone for data, this app moves your apps to a different folder, I'm not sure if it has any effect to the apps data after updating.

In order to do the update, follow Mark's instructions first install OktoPrep and then update via iTunes, don't skip any step, proceed at your own risk (only you know how valuable your non-itunes-syncing data is)
