do i need to remove all my programs i got through cydia before i install 2.1?
Im running 2.01 jailbroken with pwnagetool.

I want my phone to not be jailbroken for a little while, so i just wanted to know if anything i've done during my jailbreak will stay with the phone after i update the firmware.

I believe you need to restore and then update, or restore using the 2.1 file so you would be starting "fresh" again. Correct me if I'm wrong?

If you update the firmware, it will delete everything jailbreak related on it, no restore needed. This is because the upgrade process erases everything but the partition where your settings, sms, etc are stored, which means your jailbreak partition is wiped clean.

Awesome! 2.1 is wayyyyyy smoother and less buggy than 2.01 Ill probably jailbreak again, but man does it run smooth au natural. gotta have my flashlight though. lol.
