I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro's SSD to a 970 Plus so the original SSD is not doing much at the moment.

Is there an adaptor that exists that would allow that SSD to be placed inside an 11" 2012 Macbook Air?

I realise the Air is SATA and the Pro is PCIe so I'm guessing no, but if anyone has tried, be great to hear from you.

Cheers.

"Modern" M.2 PCIe SSD won't work in the 2012 Air. I'd either get something from Transcend (Jetdrive 520)/OWC or buy a used OEM one on eBay.

This probably has more then you need to know on the topic:

I have a Transcend Jet Drive that I put into my 2012 11” MBA a few years ago. It came with all required tools and a link to installation video as well as external USB3 case for the original SSD. Zero issues with either SSD and my wife still uses the MBA daily for all of her computing needs.
