Hello,

I've been trying to upgrade my iPhone 4 bb 03.10.01 to 5.0.1 but all i get is Itunes error 21!

I'm following these steps:

1. redsn0w 0.9.14b2 - custow + stitch IPSW (also checked the SHSH);
2. Pwned DFU;
3. clean hosts file (deleted tinyumbrella lines);
4. restore + option key;

I found in a forum that someone with the same problem managed to upgrade by stitching and then customizing the IPSW, but when i try that with redsn0w, i get the general error message! Any ideas?

Hi,do you have your SHSH file for iOS 5.0.1?
Run fix recover from redsn0w

On recovery mode

OK, so after "error 21" i go back to redsn0w and run this fix recovery? Or is it after Pwned DFU. (sorry, got a little confused now..:D)

----------

us the latest redsn0w 9.15b1

error 21 means your not in DFU

Hi, actually redsn0w is not returning any errors after Pwned DFU, and it says that my device is on Pwned DFU, so i think that's not it. I'll download the latest version of redsn0w, maybe i'll get lucky this time! :)

C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\ and opened hosts and delete the ip that was for apple and save the hosts file
1. Restart computer
2.Put iPhone in recovery mode not in DFU but in Recovery mode ( apple with the cable) and then opened iTunes and the iTunes detect the iPhone in recovery mode press restore with custom file.

This not correct, custom firm needs to be restored in pwn-DFU.

Recovery is only used for stock firmware
