I'm a bit confused after reading a variety of ways on doing this. And I guess iCloud is confusing me as well.

I Activated my new iPhone 5 as New out of the box. I want to sync my Contacts from my iMac. If I plug the iPhone into the iMac will it want to deactivate it then reactivate as new? Or will it recognize it as a newly activated iPhone and let me just sync my contacts, etc?

Or can I sync the iMac up to iCloud with my Contacts, and then Sync the IPhone from there?

I'm sure this is basic, but between iCloud and iTunes not sure the best way?

Thanks for any help.
