Hi

My PC laptop died (the motherboard) so I am picking up a good deal on a 2nd hand macbook pro A1226, but I was wondering if I could butcher any parts from the PC to upgrade it, such as the blue ray drive and memory, or would it not be possible?

Blu-ray drive, no. Memory, only if it meets the MBP specs.

Excuse my ignorance but what is windows side?

Could I do a similar thing with the hard drive from my other laptop turning it into an external drive?
