Hi all, I did a bit of a search and on the interweb and came up dry.

I have tried several times to do an in place upgrade from Catalina to Big Sur on my MBP 16" and every time it gets stuck at the boot screen with "0 minutes remaining". I have left it for an hour or so and just nothing happens.

I can reboot and get back to Catalina without issue so just wondering if there is something I have missed here?

Try waiting more than an hour? Couldn’t hurt to let it go overnight when you aren’t using the machine, and see what happens. I’ve had issues with updates in the past where it gets stuck on “0 minutes” for hours.
