I was wondering if anyone has talked to AT&T and sucessfully been able to do this; My Upgrade eligibility date is February, 2011. I hate to pay $200 more for an iPhone 4 because I missed the eligibility cutoff by 2 months  Has anyone been able to get AT&T to move their eligibility back a few months so that it is in 2010, and eligible for a full upgrade at a discounted price?

Very doubtful. They have to cut it off somewhere and it looks like they have already drawn that line.

Your best bet is to ask to speak to a "retention specialist" i.e. those people whose job is to make sure you DO NOT leave AT&T. Threaten to leave and go to another carrier unless they bump up your eligibility date. Worth a try, right?

Good idea, thanks! i'll give it a try. I'm not trying to be super cheap and find loop holes around things, but being I don't work yet, I need to find the cheapest way to upgrade. Do you think I can get $500 for a 16gb 3GS Jailbroken & Unlocked? it's in great condition.

Thing is, the retention people will tell you you have to pay $325 to cancel if you are under contract.

Also, are you sure you are early discount eligible? Mine is for 02/20/2011 and right now, my price is $599 for the iPhone 4. I'm hoping that changes to $399.
