Upgrade from 1tb to 2tb

Hey guys,
I have been a mac owner for all of 10 days now
I have the 27.5 Imac with the i7 processor, 8GB DDR3 SDRAM and a whole bunch of other things that I'm not sure on what they all do. I have 1tb HDD. Is it possible to upgrade to 2tb if i need to down the road?

Sure. I would probably go with an external RAID.

Internal drive wise I would think about an SSD for your apps and OS.

Good luck finding a 2TB SSD, haha! There aren't any that large and it would literarily cost you like 15 grand.

I would not install a larger hard drive internally, I would have external hard drives for archival storage and one for time machine.
