Upgrade from GM to official version?

Mountain Lion officially released in the Appstore today and I currently have the GM version. I plan to install the official version of Mountain Lion to my Mac. Can I just download Mountain Lion from the appstore and install?

You can but it's pointless, it's the exact same version. Just purchase ML or redeem the uptodate code, and don't bother downloading/re-installing.
