So my wife and I both had Series 1 and 2 respectively, and I decided to get her a new watch when her screen just came undone. I got her the 41 mm midnight aluminum. While mine was still working and intact, I got tired of no updates, limited functionality and the slow crawl of using the watch. So I decided to upgrade mine too (45 mm clover green aluminum). I’ve only had it a day and I must say I am initially very impressed.

Sure, this is a pretty dramatic upgrade in terms of jumping between these series, but this thing is just smooth like butter in comparison lol. The screen size is just a joy to use and I honestly can’t tell I’m wearing a larger size, it literally feels no different than the 38 mm I had on before. That was my initial concern. Just to be able to use new watch faces, full access to apps with full support is a breath of fresh air.

I’ll post more when I’ve had it a while, but I had my old Apple Watch for almost 5 years and while that served me well (primarily for workouts), this one just seems so much more capable. Looking forward to it!

Congrats, you’ll enjoy it

Although I rarely manage this in practice, it can be really satisfying to wait several generations to upgrade. It make the newer product seem so special and polished by comparison.

But either way, you’re right: the S7 is really nice. To me, it feels much more like a true watch (and less like a watch-like gadget) than previous generations.
