My Series 5 GPS + Cell works perfectly. 44mm

Verizon is offering $180 credit on trade in. So, I know the display, brighter, PulsOx. Maybe more?

So, is this an upgrade worth doing? I like the bigger brighter display.

Is battery life better?

What is everyone's experience or opinion?

I upgraded from an S5 to S7. The two things I love the most are the fast charging and the larger screen. The battery life seems better, but I think it’s just because I upgraded from a 85% battery health to a brand new one, so it’s probably just that. Very happy so far, but of course there’s nothing game changing from the S5, you still have a very capable Watch

Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay. That’s different for everybody.

I had the S4, 5, 6 and now 7. Out of them all, my S5 had the worst most atrocious battery life averaging about 8% drain/hour. My usage hasn’t deviated in any of the models. So I’d say battery life will be better, going off experience though.

Are the features of the S7 coming from an S5 worth it to you is the question. I’m a yearly upgrader so I’ll spend your money all day and say yes lol.

My Apple Watch Series 7 from October still has 100% battery health. Comparing with the Series 6 which dropped to 93-94% at the same time.

I think I will makr the move.

It will probably be a while before the watch can read BGL.....so this will do me for a while.

Well, I made the move yesterday. To me, there is a big difference. The edge-to-edge screen is really nice.

I love that it does things much faster. And, I had apps that were problematic on the Series 5 that work perfectly on the 7.

I went with the aluminum because I know I will be making the change to the 8 or 9 or 10. So, an extra $280 was not worth it to me.

But, so far, I am very happy that I upgraded.

The next watch could have something really amazing on it. I used to use a gen 1 and that was really slow which really annoyed me, but I think I have a gen 5 now and it feels fast enough. I guess the edge to edge screen would fix my issue with small notifications not fitting on the screen, forcing you to scroll down just to read "you have received a message from User387" in Snapchat.

But I would consider waiting, or you'll look silly with your old one while everyone is watching holograms on their watches or whatever.

I still have my SBSS 44mm S4 Apple Watch and its Battery Health is still going strong at 94%.

I haven't upgraded to newer models purely because I don't really care for the added features of the newer models (always on display and slightly larger screen).

One of the main reasons though is because with the current editions of the Apple Watch, you cannot buy the Space Black Stainless Steel edition unless you go for the more expensive Hermes lines and I actually don't like the muted matt colours of the current non stainless steel editions.

If this year's watch is an all new design (that squared design we keep seeing) then I could be well tempted.

Like others said, I have definitely had a much better battery experience with my Series 7 compared to my Series 5, which has the worst battery life and battery health of ANY of the Apple Watches I have owned. I have had every Series except 6. I think the faster charging and the screen size are also very nice upgrades.

I don't personally care about more sensors. Skin temp would be nice, but it's not a big deal. At this point, I think that it would really take improved battery life and more frequent sensor readings to convince me to upgrade again.
